Aisling Bea

Aisling bea, who was born in Kildare Ireland on 16 March 1984 is among Ireland's richest and most famous comedians. Bea has appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March 1984) is an Irish writer, actress, and comedian. In the aftermath of appearing in small parts in a variety of Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea was able to begin her career as a stand-up comedy performer in the year 2011. Bea began performing regularly on sketch comedy and sitcoms in 2012. She began appearing regularly in panel programs after winning an award in an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. From 2016 to 2017 she was the team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and has been a regular contestant on the spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents are Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has one younger sister, Sinead. The second woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You're Funny award in 2012. Bea is her maiden name in honour of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was conceived on March 16, 1984 in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet who committed suicide shortly after Bea turned three was the victim of suicide. The news of his suicide only after thirteen years of age. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father. She also wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher jockey trainer as well as a professional jockey. They were obsessed with racing and horses. Bea worked as a guide at The Irish National Stud in her childhood. Bea was conscious, however she knew that race racing was not what she wanted to be as professional and that she would rather perform.
